Paris here we come

Ok so the first episode of Safe Light 19 is almost in the can and I am over the moon to say that we are headlining ComicCon Paris next weekend.

A convention that will attract 190,000 people from around Europe and Safe Light 19 launches there. On Saturday 2nd July 2011 we will be showing a special screening of Episode 1, followed by a Q&A with the Director and some members of the cast and then we end it off with a signing session. This will be a new experience for me and after 4 years of working within the industry I am delighted to be experiencing this for the first time with this particular show.

It is full of great actors and friends of mine and the crew are brilliant, this really has been great to work on. So until then I'll brush up on my French and practice my autograph... hmm do you think they will let me use potato letters and poster paint?

Safe Light 19 - on set and making it happen

Last weekend was my first night filming for Safe Light 19. I have experience in night shoots but this one was like no other. (Although I wonder if that's something you say every time?)

We were shooting at the A1 Truck Stop, American Diner in Grantham. It was an amazing shoot with so many of the cast and crew needed for this venue I got a true insight as to how many great people are involved with this project.

I met director Darren S. Cook around two years ago and believe it or not it was then when he said I would be perfect for the role of Frank James in Safe Light 19. Now we are actually making the series and it is amazing. I look forward to updating you as we progress with the show and the exciting details of the launch.

Michael Sani - Updated

Apologies for the huge gap in my posts and for such a delay since I last posted. I am currently in Lincoln doing some ADR for 'Devils Breath' (Like me if this is a new abreviation it means automated dialogue replacement)

2011 has been a great year so far. It has now been over four years since I returned from travelling and decided to commit to this as a career choice and it has been a great journey. This year I have gone through the rigorous process and prevailed to be awarded my 01 visa. My attorney said I was the lightest case she had ever submitted so I was ecstatic to find out I had been granted it, it is a big achievement for me and a big stepping stone in my career.

But as luck would have it the film over there has been delayed again so I am playing the waiting game, a game I have had lots of experience in and now take in my stride. The important thing is to continue progressing in terms of more projects, new experiences and more acquaintances. After all they say in Hollywood an over night success takes 10 years.. so I am four in and on the way ;)

So what's coming up? well the picture attached to this post is 'Frank James' - he is a character I was first told about a year and a half ago when I first met Darren S. Cook and now its come around into pre-production and we begin filming next month. I cannot wait! Check out www.safelight19.com

Inside Incredible Athletes

What an amazing programme shown on Channel 4 last night directed and produced by Mike Christie. (Pictured… he is the chap to the left if you cannot distinguish between him and the runners)

The documentary was inspiring to watch as it showed the lives of some great athletes who have over come so much to be able to achieve what they do.

Exciting times lie ahead for them all as we count down for 2012 and my best wishes go especially to Stephanie Reid and Jonnie Peacock whom I had the pleasure of filming with.

Where we stand at present

Ok so as I write this I am in the process of applying for my O1 Visa which when successfully appointed will then see me head over to the states to fulfill my role as Josh Ellison in 'The Summoning'. A film that has suffered many delays but is on the verge of filming.

It has opened my eyes to the possible delays within the industry and I have witnessed those that give up along the way, something I cannot even consider an option because the chase is what keeps me hungry. The last thing I filmed was 'Three' and that was a great nights filming, check out the video Director Darren S. Cook has put together for the cast and crew, you can see how much fun we had doing what we loved.
I have been working on this now for nearly four years and I am really pleased with those people I am working and associate with. I have also focussed my energies on 'Bite the Ballot', a project that started in my class room at Wilmington Enterprise College and we are set to make Political history. A group of Sixth formers are engaging more young people in to Politics and breaking down the perceived barriers between young people and politicians so that communication and understanding will be enhanced on both sides. Check out the dedicated site at www.bitetheballot.co.uk.

Tune into Channel 4 on Sunday 29th August at 9pm to see myself in Mike Christie's documentary about the Paralympic Athletes, another great day I had filming in London's Borough Market.
